Some buildings you either love or hate, especially when it’s one of Erno Goldfinger’s tower blocks. But if the thought of living in one of these iconic tower blocks gets your pulse racing, here’s some good news – a top-floor flat in Balfron Tower is now up for sale.
Yes, the top floor – that’s floor 25. But it does mean you get some stunning views of the capital from the Poplar-based block. The Grade II-listed Balfron Tower was the forerunner to the slightly more famous Trellick Tower, built in 1967, with Goldfinger living in one of the flats in Balfron for a time to get a feel for the block before he embarked on Trellick.
The flat on offer still has some of the original features, including
the front-aspect metal-framed windows and metal doorframes with
architrave light switches, but is otherwise a modern two-bedroom flat
with private entrance hall, reception room, kitchen and balcony.
Check out the pictures and background detail of the site – if you like it, the sellers are looking for offers around £225,000.
