We're big fans of Celia Birtwell's designs here, especially as many of her ranges have made it into 'affordable' retailers in the last couple of years. And that trend is about to continue with the launch of a Celia Birtwell range for Boots.
Yes, following designs for Topshop, Habitat, Heals and Millets (amongst others), the famed 60s/70s textile designer launches a Boots range on February 3rd 2009 (tomorrow if you're reading this as a new article). From the information we've received, you can expect sunglasses and beauty accessories, the latter including washbags, cosmetic purses, brushes and cosmetic sets.
The sunglasses designs feature classic Birtwell archive print designs including ‘Classical Star’, ‘Stripe’ and ‘Cherry Spot', with the designer's name subtly printed on the frame. Expect to pay between £30 and £70 for those.
Most of the beauty accessories feature the 'Mademoiselle' design, along with 'Cherry Spot', 'Classical Star' and some plain pieces (including the jet black floral ring here), with prices for those ranging between £3.50 and £20. Our advice? Get in early.
