Classic 302 Desk Phone

First introduced in 1937, the 302 Desk Phone was designed by Henry Dreyfuss, who was also responsible for the later model that bears his name, the Dreyfuss 500.

The ergonomic handset of the 302 was designed based on the ear to mouth measurements of 2000 people and this was the first phone to incorporate a bell in the base. The version available to buy here is a reissue by Wild & Wolf, which has been updated with push button numbers rather than the original dial.

The red moulded plastic version is available to buy from Red Candy, a website devoted to the colour red, priced £36.
