There’s so much going on with the Art Room wallpaper by Mini Moderns. But in a good way.
Essentially this is a collection of items that might well have been used in an art class in 1980s Yorkshire, which is where designers Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire started their creative journey.
But there’s a little more in there too. According to Mark:
‘There are two key influences that come together in this print. In our school holidays, Keith and I would religiously watch Nancy Kominsky’s show, Paint Along With Nancy.
We took something of Nancy’s spirit on board when we embarked on this design. In addition, we are both obsessed with the 1960s film, The Sandpiper, particularly Elizabeth Taylor’s Big Sur artist’s studio, and there are several references to its interior in the print.’
All of which comes together in glorious style, adding some midcentury quirkiness to a wall in need of brightening up in your home. The Art Room Wallpaper is available in four colourways: Concrete, Coach Emerald, British Lichen, and Chalkhill Blue. £60 is the price of a roll.
