There are modern-day copies around, but I can’t resist this original 1960s Dansette Bermuda record player on eBay.
Fully restored, this is a wonderful example of a player dating back to 1963, one that has been stripped and cleaned inside and out to get that ‘almost new’ look.
Check out the listing for all the restoration details, but in short, the player has been pulled apart, with any failing parts replaced, any adjustments made, new cabling added for modern-era safety, the hinges replaced and the BSR deck checked and ready to play records at four speeds and in three sizes.
As we said, see the listing for the full breakdown of work if you are a serious bidder, as well as some additional photos. This is a proper auction too, with the price right now at £10.50. I can’t see it staying that low, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.
