Lunablocks – make your own life-sized Lego furniture

Lunablocks

Never mind making miniature models – with Lunablocks, you can make your own full-size Lego furniture.

The work of Thierry Nahon and Philippe Landecker from Lunatic Construction, the blocks come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours, all soft enough for your kids to play with, but sturdy enough to use in home design – supporting a glass table surface in the above example.

On the face of it, they aren’t expensive either, with prices starting at 14 Euros. But chances are you’ll need a few to build a coffee table or shelving unit, so maybe get the calculator out first.

School Chaise – based on an old school chair

School_chaise

Remember the old plastic school chairs? They are the inspiration behind this newly-launched lounger – the School Chaise.

In fact, this design by Guy Brown for Farm is every bit the school chair, but with ‘distorting elements’, making it more of a lazy lounger than an upright seat, not to mention an eye-catching piece of interior design.

How this orange and black Chaise will actually feel to sit in is anyone’s guess – but I suggest you try before you buy with a price tag of £1,800.

Mixa 2 – the modern-day mix tape gets an update

Mixa2

Remember the Mixa? It had the looks of a traditional cassette, but the functionality of a modern-day USB drive, offering up mix tapes for a modern era. Well, it’s back with a few improvements as the Mixa 2.

The main improvement is the USB connector – it now ‘slides’ in and out, which means when it isn’t in use, it’s hidden away inside, maintaining that old school cassette look. There’s also a choice of coloured Mixas and a new box for your fakey tape.

Aside from that, everything’s the same – including the 1GB of storage for music, photos and videos, complete customisation of the sleeve, some stickers and the price – which is still £19.99.
