SodaStream Genesis Drinks Maker

SodaStream-Genesis-Drinks-Maker-Red

If you were a child in the early 80s, it is likely that you will remember SodaStreams with a certain fondness. Once a feature of most homes, I haven’t seen one for some time, but they seem to be making a bit of comeback.  Home Temptations currently has several machines a wide variety of the syrup mixes available.

Pictured here is the SodaStream Genesis Drinks Maker in red which is probably the model that retains the most retro look.  It costs just under £60 and is also available in grey.  The selection of syrups with which to flavour your fizzed water includes cola, lemon-lime and ginger ale, all priced £4.49, although the sample pack of 12 flavours for £10 is perhaps the best way to reintroduce yourself with the wonderful world of homemade drinks.

Visit Home Temptations for full details.

Nico Sunglasses by Tom Ford

Nico

Oversized sunglasses are everywhere you turn in recent years, from Primark to the catwalk brands. While the designer pricetags are not for all of us, investment in a timeless accessory is often easy to excuse. These Nico Sunglasses by Tom Ford certainly lean enough on vintage inspiration to last year after year, without falling for boring design points.

The angular design makes this pair stand out, without compromising the sixties/seventies appeal of the pair. Shown here in a tortoiseshell colour design, the gradient shading of the lenses, too, perfectly evokes a retro chic.

Chiffon Gypsy Dress by Lila

Chiffon

Lighter fabrics for the summer months can heavily dictate the look of any wardrobe, lending themselves well to a variety of vintage styles. Tea dresses with a forties and fifties look are ideal for this season, like this Chiffon Gypsy Dress by Lila.

The light chiffon layers lend well to the simple cut of the dress, creating flowing femininity along with the vintage shape. Pastel colours used in this vintage floral print are instantly pre-60s, while the gypsy style neckline adds a demure detailing.

eBay watch: 1960s Crestworth Twiggy lamp

Crest

An interesting, unusual and we would guess, quite rare design on eBay right now – this 1960s Crestworth Twiggy lamp.

Designed in the 1960s and produced into the early 70s, it actually has a look of an early piece (think 1950s for that frame). For your money, you get that distinctive tubular aluminium frame with the rubber ball feet, finished off with a bakelite bulb holder, screw-on shade, which is made of spun aluminium with a 'grey furry' covering.

The size is adjustable, going to a total length of 44cm, while condition is described as 'excellent'. Some bids already placed, but still at only £27.

Industriel furniture collection at Lavender and Sage

Industriel bookcase

If you're looking for some new furniture with a more industrial feel, you may want to take a look at the Industriel collection, new in at Lavender and Sage

The collection looks like it has been taken from a workshop and features a desk, a circular stool and the bookcase pictured, all made from oak and metal. The material has been treated to give it a used feel (so you can pretend it's vintage, rather than purchased from the web): the wood has been patinated and the metal has been greyed and aged.

A set of two stools costs £170, while the desk is £325 and the bookcase is £425.

Ben Javens

The latest collaboration at To Dry For is this charming Sunny Days tea towel, featuring a design by Ben Javens.

The design optimistically heralds the start of the summer, with a illustration showing that indeed the sun has got his hat on. The blue, yellow and brown colour scheme adds to the retro feel of the design.

As with all the To Dry For products, it's a very reasonable way to snap up a piece of design. This tea towel costs £9.95.
