Ben Sherman designer suits at Burton

Model_2

Ben Sherman have been making suits on the cutting edge of fashion and tailoring since the 1960s and fans of the style that made them famous will be glad to know that their latest range brings back that vintage look once more.

With retro looks and sharp tailoring, the suits will no doubt be a hit. Even better news, then, that Ben Sherman are selling their range through high street menswear staple Burton. The shop, though not usually known for high style, is a stalwart of British men’s fashion and could well see something of a revival thanks to these designer classics.

Jackets start at £119 from Burton in stores or online.

Not just any bar stool, this is the Jean Prouvé Tabouret Haut bar stool.

Designed by Prouvé in 1942 and reissued by Vitra, it is a more refined version of a typical stool, offering a round seat, four long canted legs and a tubular steel ring mounted two thirds down for solidity and as a foot rest.

The frame is made from solid oak (natural or stained), with prices at around £405.

Old Skool Leather Football

Old_skool

Ask any elderly relative about today’s footballs and they’ll invariably talk about a ‘balloon’ before waxing lyrical about the weighty lumps they had in their youth – a ball like the Old Skool Leather Football.

Miles away from the balls used in the Premiership, this one is leather, Italian made, hand-stitched and coming in its own cloth bag. But it is a regulation size – so should you fancy a kickabout, it’s just the thing. As long as you’re wearing old skool boots.

Available now, you can pick it up for £39.99.

Retro one-piece swimwear from Popina

Halter_retro_swimsuits

One-piece swimsuits have been looking a little bit lacklustre since the onslaught of the bikini in recent decades, but thanks to the recent trend for fifties looks the bathing suit is very much back in our shops.

We mentioned Jasmine Guinness’ gorgeous versions on Retro To Go some time ago, but if you’re looking for something a little bit different then these designs from Popina are worth a look. The polka dot halter suit with boy shorts is a great choice and extremely easy to wear.

These two suits are available online and cost $72 each in a variety of colours and prints.

This art deco-styled gem dates back to 1924, offering ‘glare free’ lighting from all angles, with the light designed so that all surfaces are illuminated at exactly the same angle.
