Zihotch Retro Phone Watch – dial the time

Is it a watch? Is it a phone? Well, the Zihotch Retro Phone Watch isn’t really either.

Straight out of Japan (you might have guessed that), the Zihotch Retro Phone Watch by Maywadenki doesn’t actually show the time. Instead, you have to dial ‘117’ on your wrist, which will prompt the time to be spoken to you via the speaker. Dial a wrong number and you’ll just get ‘We are sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service. Please check and call again.’ You can even get it to give you an alarm call in the morning as a bonus.

The watch is now on sale at US-based site Audiocubes, so I’m guessing it has been re-worked for the language. You can pick it up for $79.99 (around £40).

Digetex is paying tribute to the late 60s with its Woodstock Collection of late 60s-themed wallcoverings and designs.

Very much in the spirit of the bold designs of the late 60s and early 70s, the company is offering wallpaper, paper murals, fabrics, roller blinds and canvas, with the option to fine tune the products with your own colour choice or scaling.

Check out the website for the designs, with prices varying depending on product – but as a guide, a blind is around £75 and a wallpaper mural around £35.

For the cyclist around town who has everything – including a hefty bank balance – Gucci offers the 8-8-2008 Limited Edition bicycle.

It’s one of eight items created by Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini to ‘epitomize sporty luxury’, which is certainly does with its classic looks matched with high-end leather saddle bags and seat.

The only downside (apart from the high price) is that you can only actually buy this in China, with the launch designed to coincide with the Olympics. But let’s be honest, someone would probably steal it anyway.

Ever heard of a Span House? I’m guessing you might not know much about the concept unless you live in one or live near one. But there is a chance to get up-close with one with a property at Cedar Chase in Taplow, Berkshire on the market.

Essentially, a Span House is a house made by Span, designed by Eric Lyons between 1948 and 1969, with the idea of creating a new type of housing – aimed at communities with shared gardens and landscaping (forcing people to interact), as well as a modern, open design. A more European way of living in essence.
