You can't say that the CH468 chair by Hans J Wegner is an icon of the era, purely because the chair never actually went into production when it was designed, which was back in the 1960s.
But it is going into production in 2010, launching during the London Design Festival in September. The chair was first designed by Wegner in 1960s, with Carl Hansen and Son working from the original drawings, clay models and photos of the prototypes to recreate a lost gem from the 50 years ago.
The frame is brushed stainless steel, the interior frame is handmade in wood and the cushion is in down and foam, all finished off in your choice of material for a truly stylish object. Price? Expect to pay £2,895 when it lands at Aram.
Back in March, we saw the first 60th anniversary Wishbone Chairs by Hans J. Wegner in various shades of blue. Well, that's not the end of the anniversary celebrations, with a range of citrus shades now being offered by Carl Hansen.
It's a midcentury classic, designed by Wegner in 1949 and in continuous production since 1950, no doubt because of its stylish curves and adaptability as both a dining or easy chair. The new range of colours is pictured above and over the page (if you want detail), working as both a set of the same colour or as a range if you want one of each.
Due out in early Autumn will be the final range of colours in the series, completing the set of twelve new hues. But if you want these, they are available online or instore at the Lollipop Shoppe for £510 each.
