Joseph Joseph Vinyl Chopping Board

5533411590000_Red_l1
Joseph Joseph’s products often have a retro theme and this Vinyl Chopping Board, exclusive to Urban Outfitters, is no exception.

Shaped like a record, it is made from toughened glass – a real vinyl record won’t be much use against a sharp knife. It measures 30cm in diameter, which also makes it the same size as a traditional 12 inch record or album. The record label features a bold tomato design, as a nice little parody of the Apple label logo.

It costs £15 from Urban Outfitters.

Meyer Prestige Dome Kettle

If you liked the Meyer Prestige Toasters mentioned earlier in the week, then the matching kettle might also be of interest.

The Meyer Prestige Dome Kettle ha s a traditional stove-top kettle shape, but is a modern electric kettle with all the features that usual entails. The exterior is decorated with a monochrome check, which is described as art deco, but looks more 60s op art to me.

The kettle costs £54.99 from Leekes.

Meyer Prestige Deco Toaster

365905_m
Not as solid or as impressive looking as some other retro toasters, such as those by DeLonghi, the Meyer Prestige Deco Toasters nonetheless offer a way to add a fun retro touch to the kitchen.

There are two 1960s-inspired designs to chose from; Hoops featuring a red/grey/black pattern of ovals and Checked, with a monochrome op-art style check design (pictured here0. Both variations offer the same features; namely 2 variable toasting slots, reheat/defrost/bagel settings and 6 position variable browning control.

The toaster costs £40 from Leekes

’50s kitchen print aprons at Stitch Designworks

50s apron
Love the '50s? Fans of the decade who also plan on getting a little messy may want to invest in this kitchen print apron from Stitch Designworks.

It's a pretty frilled apron featuring a kitsch print showing a fifties home economic lesson – think immaculately clad women laying tables or getting things out of ovens. The apron is topped off with a piped heart pocket on its front. Like this print? You can also get it on seat pads, oven gloves or tea cosies.

The half apron pictured costs £14 or you can get a full apron for £16.50.

Hope and Greenwood homewares

Hope and greenwood

We're obviously massive fans of Hope and Greenwood's retro sweets, but did you know they also sell their own range of homewares?

The homewares range is based around a design is called This Lovely Land which is inspired by traditional British stamps. The bright colours makes it a great take on the current heritage trend and a perfect fit with the distinctive Hope and Greenwood packing. The design is used across several items, such as the cotton apron and the tea cosy pictured as well as tea towels and oven gloves.

Prices start at £10 for the tea towels. Perfect for using to wash up after you've indulged in some of their confectionery!

1950s Christmas Bustle tea towel

Christmas bustleAfter your Christmas dinner, continue the festive feel to your washing and drying up courtesy of this Christmas Bustle tea towel

Another great design found in the archive of Swedish firm Almedahls, this was originally designed by Aune Laukkanen in the 1950s. It's a suitably jolly design showing lines of elves readying the Christmas feast. Apparently providing a stack of tea towels is a traditional Swedish gift for hostesses – if that's a tradition you want to revive, surely this should be top of the pile?

The tea towel costs $16.
