Nanoo Shia 60s-style Botanie print

I don’t usually like prints on canvas – it seems like some kind of contradiction, especially when they’re often just photos touched up via PhotoShop. That’s not the case with this 60s-inspired Botanie print by Nanoo Shai.

It’s one of a number of original and stylish retro-styled prints on the Qora & Shai website. This one is 32 x 24 inches, a framed fabric print on canvas, stretched on a wood frame. It also uses a glossy fixative for the best protection of colours against UV and the ageing of the canvas.

Available online, you can buy it for 85 Euros.

I have an apology to make. Yesterday I said that the op art-style mugs from Bo Concept were the only non-bland items in the store’s range. I was wrong – I’ve discovered these amazing retro-styled glass candlesticks.

The picture says as much as you need to know – with designs in that vintage Scandinavian style, fittingly for a Scandinavian design company. Available in black, clear or smoke-coloured glass in a variety of sizes, prices start from a very affordable £8.

Nike Vintage Trainer bag

Not a bag for our vintage trainers, this Nike Vintage Trainer bag has a print that features old-school Nike footwear.

Worth a look if you’re on the look out for a new bag for the gym, it’s very much the traditional holdall with a vintage monochrome trainer print, with white leather handles and trim and a contrasting orange lining.

The bag measures around 20" x 10" x 10" and retails for around £60.

Bo Concept’s op art-style mugs

I always have a problem with Bo Concept – most of their items are exceedingly bland, but ideal for soulless loft apartment living. However, whilst browsing the site the other day, I noticed these rather cool op art-style mugs that would fit well into any 60s-styled home.

The mugs are made from white porcelain, with three designs available (and pictured) – all in a retro.op art style.

A good buy at just £5 each.

Aldo Londi’s Rimini Rosso Cat

For fantastically quirky 60s design, check out Aldo Londi’s designs for Bitossi, which have been reissued in limited quantities by the company to celebrate the centenary of the designer’s birth. By far the most distinctive are his animals – and for me, the most distinctive of all is the Rimini Rosso Cat. Red ceramic, great design and a guaranteed conversation-starter.
