Despite the rather modern product name, the i drawers have a decidedly retro look, combining space-age curved lines with a glossy finish.  They are suitable for use in the bedroom in place of a tradional chest of drawers or as an alternative to a sideboard in your lounge.

If you want genuine retro bedlinen rather than the vaguely retro inspired offering from the mainstream stores, then vintage is the only answer (assuming you aren’t put off by its second-hand nature).

Taking the hassle out of trawling charity shops, H is for Home currently has a small selection of vintage bedspreads. Dating from the 1960s and 1970s, they feature floral and op-art patterns in colours that are typical of that time. Prices range from £22 to £40.

The ottoman is definitely back! This is the second one we’ve featured recently, which surely must count as a trend.

Confusingly named the Jet Set Storage Bench, it isn’t in a space-age style, but it certainly harks back to other mid-century trends. Upholstered in orange vintage-style tweed, it costs $240.
