Kay+Stemmer Shaper mid-century coffee table

Mark_shaper

We're big fans of the mid-century inspired pieces from modern day design team Kay+Stemmer, not least this Shaper coffee table, designed for Mark of Cornwall.

Loving the curves (inspired by the surfboard apparently), with supporting legs in either European oak or black American walnut, creating a very stylish contrast.

It's been designed for indoor or outdoor use, but you really don't want to be opening this to the elements, especially with a price of £1,600. And if you like the looks, but want something bigger, there's also a dining table in the range, with both available to view at Liberty's.

No, nothing to do with the headline-cashing Irish singer, the Design House Stockholm Bono mugs are an altogether more stylish proposition.

Knoll reissues the George Nakashima 1940s Straight Chair

Knoll_straight

An early mid-century gem has been reissued by Knoll, the George Nakashima Straight Chair.

Created by the Japanese/American designer back in 1948, the chair is still sharp over 60 years on, made from American walnut with turned legs and stretches, contrast hickory spindles and a clear, slight gloss finish.

Each Chair features George Nakashima's signature under the seat (so everyone will know it's the real deal) and is priced at just over £609.

A simple white finish or if you're after something more bold, check out the red and blue options. All priced the same – £370.
