Nono Babuska retro-styled wall art

Babushka

The newly-launched Tangletree Interiors has some weird, wonderful and indeed retro-styled wall art from Nono on its shelves – including this incredibly eye-catching Babuska wall art.

Yes, it's the classic Russian doll, available as seven panels, offering a full set of dolls in increasing sizes across your wall. Obviously it's pitched for a child's wall, but if you have a blank wall anywhere, this is guaranteed to create impact.

On the downside, it's priced rather heftily at £265 – and you'll need to be extra-careful when you fix it to the wall, because there's no going back if you make a mistake.

Richard Sapper 1970s Tizio table lamp for Artemide

Tizio

Yes, it does look like an old executive desk toy, but this is actually a design classic from the 1970s – the Richard Sapper Tizio table lamp.

Designed by Sapper for Artemide in 1972, the aluminium lamp features an adjustable counterbalanced arm and head, the head featuring a halogen bulb powered by a 12v transformer – and the whole thing working without a single electrical cable internally. Clever stuff.

Quirky and cool – the Tizio can be yours again for £219.

Santa & Cole Cesta mid-century table lamp

Cesta

A distinctive design that dates back over 40 years – the Santa & Cole Cesta mid-century table lamp.

This 'lantern' (based on the ones used in coastal houses to guide returning sailors) was designed by Miguel Mila back in 1964, built around a cherry wood frame holding an inner 'ball of light'. And there's a handle too, which means you can easily move it around or if you like (and it's safe to do so), hang it up in a room.

A stylish lamp that's certain to be a talking point in any home, it sells for around £523.

Arne Jacobsen City Hall clock

Jacobsen_clock

Minimalist and functional – it's no wonder the Arne Jacobsen City Hall clock is still doing swift business over 40 years after its introduction.

The clock was designed by Jacobsen in 1961 for (you guessed it) the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, offering up an aluminium frame, curved glass front and no nonsense dashes for the hours and minutes.

Available online, it sells for £267.
