Retro Hanging Knobs from Berry Red

I4dc2bc720dca2

They say the devil's in the details and these Retro Hanging Knobs from Berry Red provide the perfect fifties detail for mid-century inspired interiors.

Reminiscent of the classic atomic coat rack,  the hooks come in a lovely palette of muted colours. They are 10cm long with the rounded end 5cm in diameter and suitable for coats, dressing gowns, towels etc. A very reasonably priced and versatile accessory for adding a retro flavour to your decor.

The Knobs cost £7 each from Berry Red here.

Spam Tea Towel

Gkspam2l
Long before it became synonymous with junk emails, spam was beloved of Monty Python fans and remembered perhaps a little less fondly by people forced to eat it during wartime rationing.

Gillian Kyle has chosen to celebrate this retro meat product in her Spam Tea Towel. The 100% cotton tea towel features a line drawing in brown of the tinned meat. The design, thankfully, is much more appealing than a tin of the dubious meat product itself.

It costs £7.50 from To Dry For.

1970s Moquette pattern apron

Moquette apron

We've featured the distinctive patterns of the London Transport Museum's Moquette furniture range before. If you can't get enough of these designs they're also available on a range of homewares, including this Moquette pattern apron.

The pattern dates from the 1970s and, if you haven't recognised it yet, is better known for adorning tube and bus seats around the capital. As well as the apron, it's also available on oven gloves, tea towels and ironing covers. Definitely a distinctive pattern but whether being constantly reminded of your commute is a good thing, I'm not so sure.

The Apron costs £10.99 with the prices for the rest of the products starting at £7 for the tea towel.

1920s and 1930s Magazine Cover Blinds

1995
I’m wary of the concept of printed roller blinds, especially if printed with your own holiday snaps, but Creatively Different Blinds has some that could convince me otherwise, in particular these Magazine Cover Blinds.

The images are from an archive at the Mary Evans Picture Library and consist of magazine covers mainly from the 1920s and 1930s, so feature illustrations in the style of that period. The blinds are made to fit your window size, so prices vary depending on your measurements, but expect to pay from £105.

Visit Creatively Different Blinds to view the different options.

Helsinki Wicker Rattan Swivel Chair

Product_full11539
Conservatory furniture tends to be rather staid and boring, but the Helsinki Wicker Rattan Swivel Chair is a bit more interesting.

The shape is very similar to the Arne Jacobsen’s classic Egg Chair, but recreated using wicker rattan, the staple of conservatory furniture. The chair sits upon a stainless steel base, which allows it to swivel round.

The chair is currently on offer, reduced to £340 from £533 at Hip Furniture.
