As ever, it's a map of the usual and the unusual – so expect record shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and inevitably a fish and chip shop – albeit one with an opera-singing proprietor. Not our average art or travel book, Andy Warhol's New York City: Five Walks, Uptown to Downtown by Thomas Kiedrowski and Vito Giallo combines the two for something just a little bit different.
It's all about Warhol's New York, where he lived, where he worked and where he was forever associated with from the 50s to the 80s. 80 sites in total, all with background stories about the art, the movies and the fashion. At first glance, you might think this is something from the Guzzini range of the 1970s. But it's actually the Herda table lamp.
Certain to be a European variation from a lesser-known brand, it's still an interesting piece and worth picking up for the right price. For your money, you'll get that period double-layered plastic brown shade (glowing yellow when lit), sat on a chromed metal base, which leaves the cord exposed to the bulb.
