Mountain Railway

Train_2In the days before video games, every boy wanted a train set for Christmas. And whilst some replica steam engines may fail to excite, this Mountain Railway still has a charm that is sure to appeal to some children as well as anyone who hasn’t grown out of toy trains.

Produced by Czech company Kovap, it is made from traditional tin and has a wind up operation. Track complete with alpine scenery is supplied.

It is available to buy from Luxeville priced just under £50.

Mod Guitars Rock Steady t-shirt

Rocksteady_2
As well as making some of the coolest guitars around, Mod Guitars also make some pretty smart t-shirts – including this Mod Guitars Rock Steady t-shirt.

Available in white or olive, the t-shirt looks like a cartoon play on the two tone Walt Jabsco character alongside a black and white check and of course, the label logo.

You can pick one up from the Mod Guitars website, priced at $15.95 (around £8).

De Lorean DMC-12 – bag a Back To The Future car

Delorean

The name De Lorean is as famous as it is infamous, but there’s no denying that the price of these futuristic cars is on the rise – so the DMC-12 on Auto Trader right now could be  shrewd investment.

The cars were made from 1981 – 1983, mainly for the US market (the reason why are all left-hand drive and a good reason why it featured as a time machine in the US-made 80s classic Back To The Future). The one here is described as a ‘show winner inside and out’ and still having that ‘new car smell’. But it is also described as ‘unrestored’, despite having upgrades to the electrics, locks and gearbox.

The fact that the owner will ‘trailer anywhere’ doesn’t make it sound like a good runner either. But it does have low mileage (17,500) and for the £26,500 price tag, you are guaranteed a real head-turner.

Upside Down House Retro Christmas Cards

0c15_1With Christmas only a few weeks away, there isn’t much time left to post Christmas cards, especially if you are sending any overseas. If you still haven’t bought yours yet, you may be interested in these Retro Christmas Cards from The Upside Down House.

There are four designs available, each with a kitsch 1950’s style to them. They cost £1.95 each or £5.95 for a pack with all four designs. Pictured here is my favourite, Santa on a Scooter.

Tinsel Tape – kitsch up your Christmas gifts

Tinsel_tape

That old favourite tinsel is out of fashion these days as we all go upmarket with our festive decorations. But it’s ideal to add that kitsch touch to your pressies – especially now it’s available as Tinsel Tape.

It’s the latest clever idea from Atypyk, with a roll offering 24 metres of the stuff, which should be enough for even the largest of families.

If you’re quick, you should get a roll through in time for this Christmas – it sells for nine Euros.
