Have we seen the end of the floppy disc? Not quite – they’re still around as floppy disks CDRs.
Not exactly value for money, with each ‘disk’ holding just 200MB (in comparison to a standard CDR that holds around 700MB for the price of a few pence), but let’s be honest, for novelty value, it might be worth that extra expense.
Sold with four coloured floppy disk labels, each floppy disks CDR sells for $14 (£7) or $32 (£16) for four – and that price includes postage.
Kenwood describes the K Mix as a ‘future classic’. We would argue that its retro styling make it a thing of the past.

The desert boot is a classic fashion item – and is still one of those fashion items always associated with mods. You can still pick up an authentic pair for yourself from the Clarks Originals range – and now you can pick up a pair for your kids with the Boden desert boots.
Very similar to the Clarks boots, but with everything scaled down for small feet. The one downside is the light tan colour – most kids will trash them in a matter of days for general wear, so might be as well to keep them for ‘best’. Or summer.

If you haven’t encountered the Hurtan before, it’s a vintage-styled vehicle with modern technology, made in the town of Granada for the past 30 years in very limited quantities – just 60 each year. The 1.2 Albaycin is available as a two-seat Roadster or four-seat Cabriolet, both featuring wood panelling, a wooden steering wheel and leather seats, along with power steering, an anti-lock braking system and a CD player.

A quick internet search for ‘Book of Lights’ seems to bring up quite a bit of religious literature rather than this quirky product, an interesting take on a lamp.
Open up an antique looking book and up pops a light. There is a choice of either a table lamp with a fabric shade, the type which might be found in any forties or fifties home, or a street lamp, again of the retro kind. The Book of Lights might make a nice companion piece to the Book Shelf we featured last week.

Not all iPod sound systems are in black and white plastic – the wonderfully retro Thodio iBox is handcrafted in wood and chrome.
