Seventies style ‘Cagney’ jeans by Duck & Cover

67e032olil

While the indie crowd are staying put with unfathomably skinny denim, the fashion stores are finally rebelling to allow the rest of us some jeans with a touch more style.

The high-waist seventies flare is now firmly here, and these Cagney jeans from Duck & Cover at Oli are a perfect example. Named for a true seventies icon, the structured waist and generous wide leg look make these stylish and easy to wear to boot.

They’re reasonably priced for well made denim, too, at £80 from the Oli online shop.

40s inspired workwear from Florence & Fred at Tesco

Office_2_

The increasing quality of style available from our supermarkets never fails to surprise, and with prices still remarkably low they’re a great way to grab some affordable wardrobe staples.

No one wants to splash out too much on workwear, so Florence & Fred at Tesco‘s Office Romance collection is a great choice. This 40s inspired suit is simple but remarkably stylish. With a tailored cinch waist and kick frills on the skirt it’s got that little something extra from most ordinary work ensembles.

Unsuprisingly the best part is the price, a bargain at just £50 in Tesco stores across the country.

Cashmere sweater dress by Phillip Lim

28764_in_l

It seems a little out of synch with the current sunshine to talk about a sweater dress, but 3.1 Phillip Lim have included this cashmere version in their new collection, so we might as well let you know.

The contrasting collar and cuffs transform this fairly ordinary A-line into a sharp and slightly mod-inspired dress. The black button details and repeated on the nape too, providing subtle but effective embellishment. With a mid thigh hemline and lightweight wool this makes a great 60s inspired addition to all the sweater dress designs out there.

It’s currently available from Net-a-Porter online for £495.
