Quirky 60s-style designs that are certain to add some life to your living room – these Long Dot and Long Spot Formica coffee tables by Alison Milner.

Yes, a Formica table, that favourite of the 50s and particularly the 1960s, returning here with a shape that screams the era, tapered beech screw-on legs with a black stain  and wax, along with two distinctive patterns created by Alison Milner and custom-printed by Formica – you can see the other one over the page.

The Formica is apparently very hard wearing and wipe clean, while the wood grain and can be retouched with black shoe polish for a long life. So the £210 asking price might prove a decent long-term investment.
