No longer just an iPhone plaything, the retro photo sharing app Instagram is now available for Android phones.

The Android version of the app is much the same as the iPhone app, give or take a couple of features that will be updated in the near future. So if you have an Android 2.2 phone (or above), you can now take snaps, then add some interesting, usually retro, filters to those images and share with your network of friends.

Plenty of filters to choose from, as well as borders, with the finished snaps also available to share on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare as well as your network, with full front and back camera support, should you have both. No posting to Flickr or  Posterous integration as yet and a few tweaks for your images are also currently unavailable, but that will be put right soon in an update.

The app is free and available here. If you want to add us as a friend, we are 'retrotogo', as you might expect.
