These keep cropping up on eBay, with prices seemingly on the rise too. No surprise there, as this 1960s Robert Welch-designed Lumitron table lamp is a beautiful thing.
Dating back to the mid-1960s (around 1966), it has a hint of the deco and a much heavier hint of the space age about it. Two very different styles and eras, but they seem to come together well on a lamp with an outer see-through shade of indigo perspex, an inner white acrylic globe and an anodised aluminium stem and tulip-style base.
The lamp has its pull-cord (chain) switch and is in 'perfect working order'. It is also describe as being in 'good vintage condition' with 'some marks and mild scratches to the shade and chrome', as you would expect from age. You can see close-ups on the listing and if you like it, the price is £275 on a 'Buy It Now' or you can make an offer.
