Vintage Lambretta headlight lamps by Lamponi

Lam1

Remember the Lamponi vintage Vespa headlight lamps? Well, the Italian designer is back with a new range of quirky, craftsman-made lighting, including the stunning Lambretta headlight lamps.

Just like the Vespa lights, these Lambretta variations use original scooter fittings (presumably from bikes that couldn't be salvaged), with the lamps themselves being aluminium castings, turned, polished and painted, as well as being made to order – which means you can decide how you want yours finished for that genuine 'one off'.

Get in touch with the designer if you want one, with prices starting around the £800 mark. See over for another of the new Lambretta lights.

For sale: 1970s-designed Lantic House in Haslingfield, Cambridgeshire

Lantic1

We continue to be amazed by the number of weird and quirky period properties throughout the UK as well as the number currently on the market – like Lantic House in Haslingfield, Cambridgeshire.

Designed by architects Saunders Boston in 1975, the house offers a country setting, a third of an acre of land and a design that could only have come out of the 1970s. Check out that double-height central space for something typically of its time, not to mention the spiral staircase and a concrete open fire place.

Len Deighton’s 1960s Action Cook Book reissued

Action

Originally released back in the 1960s, the classic Action Cook Book by Len Deighton is back to give you and your kitchen some Harry Palmer style.

Len Deighton wasn't just a lover of words, he was also a lover of food – he trained as a chef and was also a food writer in the Observer before making his name penning tales of secret agents. Indeed, the Action Cook Book mixes both worlds, offering up a guide to sophisticated cooking for the sophisticated man about town in the 1960s.

These days it's retro appeal is likely to pull in the punters as much as its use as a serious cookbook, but don't write that side off completely. If you need to dice an onion, saute some mushrooms, create the perfect romantic meal, pull off a dinner party or build up your very own wine cellar, Len is with you all the way. And all for just £6.49.

Santa & Cole 1950s Moragas table light

Moragas_lamp

At the back end of last week, we featured the stylish Moragas armchair by Antoni de Moragas Gallissà. What we didn't know then was the existence of a companion piece of lighting – the Santa & Cole Moragas table light.

Like the seat, the lamp was designed back in 1957, offering up some stylish mid-century looks, specifically with a central column of sapeli wood that supports a distinctive cotton shade with silk detailing.

The whole thing stands around 62cm tall and can be yours for £841.
