Santa & Cole 1950s Moragas armchair

Moragas

A 1950s design with art deco undertones – the Santa & Cole 1950s Moragas armchair.

Designed by Antoni de Moragas Gallissà in 1957 and apparently inspired by the lines of a Roman metal bath tub, this high-backed chair has a high-end look with its  hand-sewn upholstery with cherry-coloured wooden legs, but is also built for comfort, packing what's described as 'springy' padding that's perfect for kicking back and relaxing into.

Available once more, it's yours for £1,835.

Cuboluce 1970s bedside lamp by Franco Bettonica and Mario Melocchi

Cubo

A quirky design that's stood the test of time for well over 30 years – the Cuboluce 1970s bedside lamp by Franco Bettonica and Mario Melocchi.

Essentially, this 1972 design is a box with light. Just open the box and the light comes on, close it and it goes off. And depending on which way you angle the lid, the light is directed in a specific way. Looks pretty cool when it is closed up too.

Take your pick from black, white and the red above for your colours, all selling for £71.

Roman Klonek Escape With Me woodcut

Escape-with-me

If you are looking for something quirky why not check out the work of Roman Klonek currently on show at the Kemistry Gallery at an exhibition entitled Flux Gate Kasachok.

Polish-born Klonek is influenced by Eastern European cartoon styles remembered from his childhood and produces work using woodcut printing.

The pieces he creates are populated by a wide range of whimsical creatures, mostly half animal half human, and often presented in awkward or hair-raising situations.

There is a real retro feel to the work and this piece Escape with me is one of our favourites from the collection. It is a woodcut sized at 49 x 69cm from an edition of 14, and priced at £400.
