The Star Wars drives aree everywhere right now, so it’s good to see some new ideas from Mimoco for its USB drives – and we’re loving this newly-issued Cosmobot drive.
The work of Roxie Vizcarra, it’s a mix of design and practical technology – the design bit offering a miniature take on the iconic Soviet Cosmonaut, the practical side being a USB drive with a choice of 4GB and 8GB storage.

No, it isn’t named after the model, the Jonathan Adler Caprice dining table is actually named after the 1967 comedy-thriller starring Doris Day and Richard Harris.
And that’s not the only vintage inspiration on display here – the table is described as ‘a contemporary interpretation of the classic Saarinen table’, keeping the same profile, but offering a walnut veneer and curved polished nickel legs, with a size that’s good for between six and eight diners.
Right now this is US-only, with a price quoted at $2,950, which works out at around £2,000 at the current exchange rate.

The word ‘Mod’ is big business these days, so its no surprise to see the more mainstream fashion scene jumping in on the act, The Mod Suit by Social Suicide being one example.
Irrespective of the suit itself, the idea and the range is actually quite interesting, featuring youth cult looks over the years, including the Teddy Boy, Mod, Rocker, Peanut, Beetle and Rudi, with each inspiring a handmade suit/outfit with the kind of detailing you’ll usually expect at a tailor.
It might look like a vintage take on the classic Anglepoise lamp, but the Studioilse desk lamp is actually a modern design.
The work of Ilse Crawford, it’s made of very traditional materials – an iron base, a wooden arm and a porcelain shade, with a vintage-style switch in the base. Combined they create something that wouldn’t look out of place in a modernist-inspired room.
