Ella Doran Opal Formica Table

Furniture-Opal-Table-large
The Opal Formica Table is the first product from Ella Doran to feature her Opal pattern.

Like the Geometric Repeat pattern that was introduced last year, the Opal is a op-art design that is more subtle than Ella Doran’s more famous work. Here it is used on a table top made from Formica (always good for creating a retro look), on a James Leonard school desk-style table.

The table is available to buy from the Ella Doran website, priced £350.

Lego Storage Heads and Storage Bricks

Lego1

Looking for something quirky for storing your bits and pieces? Check out these Lego Storage Heads and Storage Bricks.

Officially licensed by the Danish toys giant, the Storage Bricks are indeed shaped like a Lego brick and just like the bricks, can be clicked together to create giant Lego structures. So de-cluttering and giant Lego – what's not to like? But wait…it gets better…

There's also Lego Storage Heads, which operate in just the same way – room for storing your stuff and able to click together as part of the larger Lego structure. Both are available now from Firebox, the heads selling from £14.99 with the blocks in various colours from £8.99 to £24.99. See over the page for Head in action.

Pretty City Mug and Coaster

London_bus_mug_2_310
The Pretty City Mug and Coaster are typical of Pretty City’s products, which feature nostalgic images of London.

The mug is decorated with multiple images of a black London cab, plus one illustration of a traditional red London bus for contrast. The mug is sold with its own coaster, a handy addition in itself, but the coaster can also double as lid for the mug to help keep the heat in your drink for longer.

The set costs £8.99 and will available to order from Cloth Ears soon, although you can view the details there now.

Apollo Sideboards

Apollo-modern-storage-furniture01
The range of Apollo Sideboards have been inspired by 1950’s designs, but updated with modern materials.

The sideboard is available in a variety of sizes and configurations. Pictured here is the low sideboard with 1 door, 2 drawers and chrome feet, but there are also variations available with 3 or 4 drawers, wheels, ash feet or resting on the floor, as well as higher units. Once you’ve decided between those options, there is then the choice of materials – my first choice would be the Walnut doors with matt white body as in this version, but the entirely white model is also worth consideration.

Prices start from £1,399 up to £3,100. View the whole collection on the Amode website.
