Apple chopping board from Lotta Kühlhorn
Following on from the post earlier in the week, here's more exciting news for those on the lookout for interesting chopping boards. We've previously featured Lotta Kühlhorn's fabulously coloured apple mugs and her range for retro etc. includes several other great designs, such as this apple chopping board. Like the mugs, they use the repeated Pop-like motif of an apple, reflecting her interest in 1970s design.
They're in-store in Skandium but sadly not on their website and, while the mugs are widely available, I've struggled to find an on-line retailer for the board. However, you can get them through FromSthlm, a US based retailer who also stock Kühlhorn's apple coasters. The board costs $32, while the coasters cost $14 for a set of four.

Orla Kiely Tapestry Cushion
There has definitely been a trend recently for folksy tapestry, whether on wall-hangings, cushions or make your own kits. This item combines that trend with the signature design from one of our favourite retro-influenced designers.
The Orla Kiely Tapestry Cushion features her famous stem print, which is reproduced here in hand embroidered wool, giving the familiar pattern a cosy feel. The square cushion is backed with canvas.
Priced £137, the cushion is available online from the Orla Kiely website.
Vintage 60s/70s Chopping Boards
Besides the worktop savers made by Joseph and Joseph, the chopping board has largely remained an uninspiring item. Or so I thought until I came across some Vintage Chopping Boards on H is for Home.
Their current stock of chopping boards date back to the 1960s or 1970s, and have been decorated in typical fashion of that period, with floral patterns. The one pictured here is available for £12 with other options being one with a floral tile inset for £6 and a Villeroy & Boch design from the Sixties for £45.
Visit H is for Home for the full stock.
Noguchi Dining Table
Like most of his designs, the Noguchi Dining Table looks surprisingly modern.
This table, featuring a base made from chromed steel wire rods, was designed way back in 1954. It is currently being produced by Vitra who offer it in two sizes, 1210cm or 900cm diameter. The table is available from Nest, priced £2,076.90 for the smaller size and £2,171.20 for the larger.
