Maria Holmer Dahlgren’s London dish cloth

London dish cloth

They aren't usually the thing you'd splash out on but who says your dish cloths shouldn't look as nice as everything else in your home? Certainly not Maria Holmer Dahlgren, whose design is featured on this London dish cloth. Apparently it's quite usual for Scandinavian homes to use designer dish cloths and who are we to argue with their sense of style?

If the Pop style illustrations of London landmarks look familiar it's because we've featured her London designs for trays a couple of times before. The illustrations look lovely in the black, white and turquoise colour scheme, almost too nice to use on your dirty dishes. Handily then, it's made from cellulose and is fully machine washable.

This small slice of style costs £3.75. .

Vintage Faucet Soap Dish

Fawcettsoapdish

There probably isn’t much you can do with the bathroom to give it a retro makeover, apart from Victorian roll-top baths and a retro-patterned shower curtain, but this Vintage Faucet Soap Dish is a nice little touch.

It is shaped like an old-fashioned tap (or faucet f you are in the USA) with the “sink” being the soap holder. It is made from iron with an aged look to add to the vintage feel.

It costs $14 from the USA Urban Outfitters.

Curved Walnut Chairs from Dwell

Curvedwalnutchair

Whilst it is no where near as good as an original G-Plan piece or an iconic design, Dwell’s Curved Walnut Chairs could be the answer for those without the budget for designer nor the fortune to find decent second-hand pieces.

The main feature of the chair, and what gives it that retro look, is the curved seat back, made from a single piece of walnut veneer. The legs are made from chrome. The chair is available as either a dining chair or as an office chair, with the latter being on wheels.

Both versions cost £159 and can be bought online from Dwell.
