Tiny Tim book light – a miniature Anglepoise-style lamp

Tiny tim

They've already made an oversized Anglepoise, so perhaps it was only a matter of time before someone thought of shrinking it too. That's the case with this Tiny Tim book light

When it says tiny, it means tiny: the lamp is designed to clip onto a book to help you read. Otherwise it's a pretty good similarity – complete with adjustable head and arm so you can get your spotlight just where you want it.

Available in either black or red, this book light costs £10.

Kitchen concepts 2 by Brewers: vintage advertising wall covering

Brewers
Like something to read as you eat your breakfast? Then perhaps your home could benefit from Brewer's Kitchen Concepts 2.

The covering is decorated with hundreds of different newspaper adverts that look like they date back to the early twentieth century, so there's plenty to interest the eye. It's made from vinyl meaning it's most suited to those areas needing to withstand some serious wear and tear – though it's called Kitchen Concepts 2, it could look quite eye catching in a small bathroom space.

The covering costs £31.95 a roll.

Pedlars Vintage Sunglasses

Pedlarssunglasses
Pedlars’ vintage ranges are always worth a look and their latest consignment of Vintage Sunglasses is no exception.

Pictured here is my favourite design, an Italian style from the 1970s in grey, but the other styles are just as stylish. Choose from unisex Japanese Aviators (dating from sometime in the period from the 1950s to 1970s) in either gold or silver or 1970s Pilot sunglasses from the USA. The Italian glasses cost £210, the other styles a bit more at £225.

Visit the Pedlars site to buy before they all sell out.

Charlotte Chair

Wickerchair
The Charlotte Chair may have been created in 1994, but wicker always shrieks retro to me.

It was designed by Mario Botta and manufactured in Italy. It is made from wicker, but on a steel frame, making it more durable than its 1970s counterparts. It costs a little over £1,000, which is a far cry from the 1970s prices too.

It is available to buy online at Panik Design.

Toulouse Stripe Tee from French Connection

Toulousestripe

Among the many iconic prints that fashion has retained from the fifties and sixties, perhaps the most simple and effective is the Breton stripe. Taken from nautical attire, its translation into fashion still has an air of retro appeal in pieces like this Toulouse Stripe Tee from French Connection.

The t-shirt's structure has subtle detailing that makes it stand out from the crowd, with a slash neck and short capped sleeves creating a silhouette that leans heavily enough on fifties and sixties beat kid clothing to retain the vintage aesthetic.

It's now available from French Connection UK for £27.

Egmont Fawn Lamp from Bodie and Fou

DEERJPEG
The childhood nostalgia of Disney’s Bambi is perfectly captured in this kitsch but cute  Egmont Fawn Lamp from Bodie and Fou.

Perfect as a nighlight in a child's room, the lamp gives off a warm caramel glow to provide reassurance to little ones if they wake in the night. Those wide, innocent eyes and big ears give the little fawn lots of character and make it as appealing to style conscience parents as it is to kids.

The lamp is made of plastic and measures 40 x 17 x 36cm. It has an easy to use switch suitable for little fingers. It costs £94.99 from Bodie and Fou here.
