1970s Owl Moneybox

This little Owl Moneybox was originally given away to customers of the Union Bank in the 1970s to encourage saving. It is back in production and now it is available to buy without having to open a new bank account.

The moneybox is made from brightly coloured plastic, in either yellow, red or green. He stands at 10cm high and once you’ve filled him up, he can be emptied at the bottom, opening with a little key.

The Beatles Colour Chairs

Eiffelbeatlescolour
As well as reproductions of iconic designs, Base Classics offers a custom pop art range, which includes The Beatles Colour Chairs.

The shape of the chair is inspired by Eames’ Eiffel Chair, but rather than having a stark white seat, the face of a Beatle is imprinted against an acid bright background. There is the option to have the design printed on the back of the chair only (£250 per chair) or on both the back and front (£325 per chair). The price per chair is reduced if you buy two or more to £175 and £250 – and with this particular design, it would make sense to buy four.

Adidas Grand Slam trainers reissued in green canvas

Grandslam

It's a reissue of the Adidas Grand Slam trainers, although the colour and construction might be slightly controversial.

First seen in 1981, the Grand Slam is back in what's called a 'reverse' colourway, as well as featuring a canvas upper. I suspect we might have lost a few of you already. For those still in, the features and shape are generally intact, but with gold (not real gold obviously) used for the pegs in the sole.

The canvas upper comes in a 'twilight green' and the reissue is described as 'highly limited'. Pre-orders now being taken, £85 is the price.

Uoldbag! Up-Cycled Vintage Suitcase

   6a00d83451cbb069e20147e2eb8ffa970b

Uoldbag! are in the business of taking old bags and suitcases and turning them in to something new and beautiful which references their origins.

This suitcase has been decoupaged with an original vintage crochet pattern and then embroidered by hand over the top so that various elements are picked out in colour.

The case measures 41cm/27cm/13cm, has it's original lining and also comes with a key for the lock. It may not stand up to the rigours of the luggage carousel but would make a great overnight case or trinket box.

It costs £190 from Uoldbag who sell their wares here.

Carson Polka Dot Dress from Boohoo

Bustierdress

Polka dot print is a fabric choice that is perenially associated with retro styles, particularly 50s looks. The second decade that favoured the famous spots was the 1980s, malking this Carson Bustier Dress from Boohoo an ideally cutesy eighties look.

The dress has the ideal structure for the era, too, with a ruffle skirt and spaghetti straps creating a great prom silhouette. The sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice finish off a look that's instantly retro, and versatile enough to dress up or down for day or night.

It's available from Boohoo now for just £20.

eBay watch: 1970s Krups Comfortchron Lux flip clock

Krups

A piece of old school technology, but one with a lot of character – this Krups Comfortchron Lux flip clock.

It's a German-made clock from the 1970s in a bold shade of yellow, offering the basics of time-telling via those flip digits and power via batteries or mains, so less wires if you don't want them.

It's described as being in 'used but very good' condition, as the 'battery box shows some signs of corrosion', but nothing to affect performance. Just one bid so far, taking the price to £1.99.
