Retro Cassette Stereo Mini Speaker for iPod and iPhone

Ipod_boom

Yes, of course it's a novelty, but there's no denying the appeal of this Retro Cassette Stereo Mini Speaker for iPod and iPhone.

Not just packing those 80s-style ghetto blasting looks, this iPod-friendly add-on takes power from your iPod, using it to knock out your tunes to a wider public. How loud? We don't know, but we suspect it's not going to annoy too many people on the morning bus.

Good for using with just about every generation of iPod and iPhone, you can pick it up online (in the US, at least) for $31.99.

Burberry Packable Trench Coat

Burberry-packable-trench
We’ve featured a couple of classic trench coats of late, but the Burberry Packable Trench Coat has one added trick up its sleeve. As the name suggests, it packs away when the rain clouds go away.

Yes, just like a plastic cagoule, this upmarket trench packs away into its own little bag. Except this bag, of course, is just up a few notches in style. The coat is no poor relation either, complete with all the classic detailing – double breasted, epaulettes, cuff details and so on.

Not the cheapest trench coat on the market though – it sells for £350.

Cesare Leonardi and Franca Stagi-inspired Gloss Pendant Lights

Light

This isn't strictly a design classic, but the Cesare Leonardi and Franca Stagi-inspired Gloss Pendant Lights are based on one, specifically the 1969 Bowling table light by the previously-mentioned designers.

That particular design was an early spot of recycling, the two designers using a headlight from a scrapped Fiat 666 lorry for the actual light, adding a coloured back and support for the finishing touch. Indeed, if you want to see the original, see over the page for an image. These updates use the same 'headlight' look for a pendant light, adding a black or white gloss finish, chrome trim, 2m of flex and an included halogen bulb.

Two designs available (as above), with prices from £75, dependent on size.

1950s-influenced Starburst Mirror

Starburst

We featured the Graham and Green Sunburst Mirror some time back, which was eye-catching and authentic, but rather pricey. The Starburst Mirror is a slightly more modern take in the same look, for a fraction of the price.

It's got the same shooting arms and central mirror, only this time the Starburst Mirror has black metal 'arms' and chrome disc detailing, the mirror measuring around six inches. No size for the entire thing, but you can probably work in out in proportion to the centre.

That price? Just £19.99.

Bubbly Chic Pendant from Innermost

Bubbly Chic

Innermost continues its reputation for innovative and interesting designs with this Bubbly Chic Pendant. It's designed by Mireille Gourbin and while the shape recalls sixties/seventies bubble glass light shades, it's actually created using acrylic and linen fibres.

The hanging pendants come in two sizes, with the small costing £111 and the large costing £189. There is also a large version available with a floor tripod for £293.

1950s-style Borrowed Spoons textile design by Skinny laMinx

Skinnyspoons

The simple white outlines and colour scheme of Skinny laMinx's Borrowed Spoons design make it look like a classic, Lucienne Day style, 1950s design. In fact it's a contemporary piece inspired by all the spoons in Skinny laMinx's, aka South African designer Heather Moore's, house.

Shown here in the melamine green and enamel red colour options, it's appropriately available on the items most likely to come into contact with your own assortment of spoons: tea towels for £8 each or a cook's apron for £18
