Retro Ceramic Table Lamps

9781bk

If designer lighting is beyond your budget, then these Retro Ceramic Table Lamps might be of interest.

The base is made from glossy black and white ceramic that gives it a Sixties op art look. It is topped off with a simple white shade. The lamps are also available in brown and cream with brown shades, which would suit homes with a warmer colour scheme.

The lamps are currently on sale, reduced to £59.95 for a pair. Buy online at Haysom Lighting.

Lights Coat by French Connection

Lights coat

Statement colours in outerwear are often something shied away from, but when the shade is a gorgeous vintage yellow it's hard to resist. This Lights Coat by French Connection is given an air of sixties style thanks to the shade and the shape.

The oversized structure of the coat gives a unique look, taking a classic mens overcoat style and feminising it in an ode to the mid sixties. Three quarter length sleeves and a thigh skimming hemline save this from swamping the body, while retaining that boyish retro chic.

Get it new in at French Connection UK for £175.

Morgan mini dress by Julie Brown

Minidress

Combining all your favourite element of any 60s fashion in one outfit can be something of a minefield in modern fashion, but this Morgan Dress by Julie Brown does a great job of tying together some of the best.

Starting with a plain, yet daringly short mini dress, the long sleeves, high neckline and chic A-line shape counterbalance the high hemline perfectly. A bold print is used throughout, but kept from being costumey by the use of another mid sixties favourite, monochrome colouring. The elements combine perfectly to make an easy to wear and stylish retro ode.

Final 50 Dieter Rams-designed 621 side tables to go on sale at Vitsoe

Vitsoe_side

Here's something rather cool if you want some rare (and soon to be rarer) design, Vitsoe is selling its final 50 Dieter Rams-designed 621 side tables as part of its 50th anniversary.

The 621 Side Table was commissioned in 1962, but sales ended in the 1980s, so this is a seriously rare piece, especially as it will be sold in its original packaging. Produced as a timeless and functional piece of plastic design, it was originally sold in two different finishes (black and off-white) and in two different sizes. All variations will be available as part of this limited reissue.

Prices will be £195 (high) and £175 (low), with sales commencing around midday on 4th September 2009. We don't expect them to be around long.
