B&W’s Zeppelin iPod sound system – shaped like an old airship

Zeppelin

An old name in audio is using an old method of air travel as inspiration for new sound system – the Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) Zeppelin iPod dock.

State-of-the-art design meets audiophile quality audio, but that design does have a practical quality, offering surround sound from its 360° speaker. The iPod hooks up via a separate support arm, which also features a unique spring-loaded mounting system for compatibility with all iPods. There’s also connectivity for other MP3 players and a total output of 150W.

Yours for £399.

Ultra Motor Europa – retro-styled electric bicycle

Europa_2

If you’re on the look out for an eco-friendly way of getting to work, buy a bike. If that sounds a bit too much like hard work, the Ultra Motor Europa could be an option.

Styled like a classic Dutch bike, the Europa offers more than pedal power – a lithium-ion battery to power you to work and back. It’s capable of hitting 20mph and covering an area of 20 miles. And it charges by plugging into the mains.

And should you feel a burst of energy coming on, there’s also 7-speed Shimano gears to assist with some authentic cycling. Not sure about a UK price, but US readers can pick one up for around $1,900 (around £950).

James Design Hardwood Wingback chair

James_chair

An old look from a new design – the James Design Hardwood Wingback chair.

Not cheap at £1,610, but a timeless design that’s certain to give you a lot of use over the years.

Levi Vintage 1978 Dry Pack – jeans, t-shirt and bag

Levi_78

Can’t say 1978 rings any bells as a year of significance in fashion, but that’s the year Levi’s has chosen for its Levi Vintage 1978 Dry Pack.

For your money, you get a pair of 5-pocket 501s in dark indigo (presumably without the enormous flares that were just about hanging on in that year), an authentic 70s-style sports t-shirt (in white) and a vintage-style laundry bag to store it all in, should you need to get it washed.

All of that in limited quantities for £165.

“Vintage Boutique” Collection from Warehouse

Warehousevintage

One of Warehouse’s new collections is the “Vintage Boutique” range. Sadly, the collection isn’t really vintage, just designs inspired by the styles often found in a vintage store, what they are describing as “thrift shop chic”.

Dresses are priced between £55 and £70 and included floral tea dresses and drop-waist styles. There are also some 1920s-inspired accessories such as a feather headband (£16) and a frame bag (£25).

To shop the collection, visit the Warehouse website.
