Recycled Bicycle Chain Frame

Rr_003_lg2

Oregon based company Resource Revival is keen on sustainable living and the idea that consumers know the origins of the products they buy. Their products are made from used bicycles parts, which bike shops around the USA send to them to be transformed into new products.

Amongst their current designs is this Recycled Bicycle Chain Frame. Like most conventional frames, it can be hung or stood vertically or horizontally, but has the added talking point of being made from old bike chains. It is available in two sizes 4 inches by 6 or 5 x7, which cost $38 and $40 (around £20) respectively.

It can ordered online from the Elsewheres website.

The dress is available from the Tarantula online shop for $90.

Alvar Aalto 1930s Armchair 400

Aalto_armchair400

It might be over 70 years old, but the Armchair 400 still looks as contemporary as anything you’ll see on the market.

The work of Alvar Aalto back in 1935, it packs those distinctive Aalto curves and some seriously soft cushions for comfort. And upholstery options are endless – everything from a plain leather (above) to a zebra skin pattern.

A timeless design classic with the inevitable high price – from £2,740.
