Knoll Past, Present and Future at Liberty in London

Knoll_liberty

The interiors department on the fourth floor of the Liberty store is always worth checking – but even more so in the next couple of months for Knoll Past, Present and Future.

As the name suggests, this is a retrospective of Hans Knoll and his company over its 70-year history – everything from Mies van der Rohe’s iconic Barcelona chair to Ross Lovegrove’s Sprite Stacking chair, taking in the likes of Frank Gehry, Eero Saarinen, Isamu Noguchi and Robert Venturi.

Check out the link below for a full breakdown of everything on display – or just check it out in the store from now until the 4th September.

The Cold War Modern exhibition doesn’t start until September, but the merchandise is slowly creeping into the V&A store – including this eye-catching Superpowers poster.

Dating back to 1968, this Roman Cieslewicz-designed image was first seen on the cover of the French left-wing art magazine Opus International and will be in display in the exhibition in poster form.

That original will set you back serious money, but this re-print is affordable to most at just £16.

The ’50s, as we all know, is ‘in’. Of course, that’s not something to be celebrated as such. However, what this does mean is that we fans of all things retro can plunder the racks for all the treasures whilst they’re around.

One such ’50 inspired treat is this cracking little Eucalyptus Crop Jacket. It’s a little bit Marilyn, a little bit art-house cinema and all style!

Retailing at £30.00 and available to buy here.

80s-style Ghetto Blaster weekend bag

Ghetto_bag

Some time ago we featured the Paul Smith 80s-style Ghetto Blaster bag, which looked the part, but carried a hefty £190 price tag. This Ghetto Blaster weekend bag is much more affordable.

Made of a durable vinyl, it packs that ghetto blaster design on the front, as well as featuring a removable/adjustable shoulder strap, plenty of space for your essentials and a separate space for your mobile phone.

All of that for $54 (around £27).
