Christian Louboutin new Simple shoes

Louboutin_simple_flannel

Christian Louboutin‘s shoes designs have quickly risen in esteem among fashion lovers and (dare I say it) celebrities over the past few years, and while some of his designs are an aquired taste, every so often there’s a pair worth saving for.

These New Simple shoes are made of a taupe flannel, giving a great classic look to a mainstay of shoe design, the round toed stiletto. The almost grey marl shade gives a slightly 1940s edge to a pair that have a modern edge thanks to their towering heel. Perfect for any 40s or 50s retro glamour look.

They’re available now from Matches Fashion online for £375.

Isamu Noguchi exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Noguchi_2
Isamu Noguchi
is no stranger to the pages of Retro To Go, but he is a stranger to UK galleries, having never featured in a major European exhibition. Until now that is, with a major retrospective at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Isamu Noguchi was very much an all-rounder, which means the exhibition mixes Noguchi’s large stone carvings outside with small interior works, like ceramics, drawings and works on paper, but most notably, the mid-century furniture classics he designed with Charles Eames, Paul László and George Nelson.

Take it all in from 18th July through to 22nd February.
