Amode’s mid-century-style oak sideboard and storage unit

Abode

If you’re after a mid-century look, but don’t want to pay a fortune for vintage/designer pieces. this sideboard and storage cupboard from Amode could fit the bill.

Both are made of oak and aren’t a million miles away from the earlier G-Plan pieces – except of course, these are newly built. The storage unit has a large cupboard area, three drawers and two open areas, while the sideboard has two large storage areas behind the two doors.

You can pick up the sideboard for £380, while the storage unit comes in at around £400.

Gagosian Gallery’s Roy Lichtenstein-inspired Pop Art Is poster

Popartis

Late last year, the Gagosian Gallery held its Pop Art Is exhibition in London – but you can still pick up the posters produced in conjunction with it – and without paying the earth.

The image above is the exhibition poster, inspired/dominated by Roy Lichtenstein’s Art image from 1962, with the addition of the exhibition details (so your friends will think you were there, wine glass in hand).

And it’s as cheap as anything to buy – just $20 (£10) to get this 69 x 100cm image on your wall.

Vintage inspired costume jewellery from Accessorize

Accessorize_deco

Monsoon and Accessorize can always be counted on for a little bit of something retro. Specialising in high street wares that are off the beaten track, Accessorize have done it again with some distinctly 20s inspired jewels.

These earrings, ring and hair comb draw heavily on 1920s art deco inspiration and, as with much of the period’s design, still look fresh and modern today. The best part is with little retro pieces like these you won’t be breaking the bank any time soon.

Little Book Of Furniture’s Spock swivel chair

Spock

Everyone needs a good armchair to sink into after a hard day at work – like the Spock swivel chair from Little Book Of Furniture.

Another in that ‘Bond villain’ mould – in fact, it is part of the company’s Goldfinger range – so maybe that was the inspiration. Anyway, for your money you get a chair made by ‘one of Italy’s finest furniture makers’ using ‘the best leathers in the world’ and sat on a chrome swivel base.

And all that will set you back £1,245.
