Our obsession with vintage robots continues with this retro robot night light.

Plug it in via the swivel plug-in base and it lights up through the night, with an on/off switch to save you unplugging every morning. There’s just oen drawback – wouldn’t this give your kids nightmares in the night?

If you want it, it retails online for $11.50 (around £6),

Dwell’s Artichoke-like spiked pendant light

Dwell_pleated
I really like Dwell – so many of their items hint at high-end design, without actually commanding the asking price. And typical is this Dwell pleated spiked pendant light.

Like the Artichoke lamp and very much like the Norm 69 pendant light, this particular pendant has the same segment-style design, all made from polypropylene and with a total diameter of 40cm.

It’s also ready-made (unlike the Norm 69) and retails for a very reasonable £24.95.

Launched at the 2007 Milan Furniture Fair, the Wingback chair is a glamorous version of the chairs found in traditional gentelmen’s clubs. It has a solid wooden frame and solid turned legs, as well as a cover in mohair velvet – with a choice of 15 colours.

Ideal for that afternoon nap, it retails for a rather pricey £3,600.

Missoni Margherita Tableware

Mih01022xl1Decorated with multicoloured kaleidoscopic flowers or multicoloured waves, the Missoni Margherita Tableware series is reminiscent of crockery sets from decades past.

The series includes plates, cups and saucers, salad and pasta bowls, as well as this particularly charming and a matching creamer. Sadly the prices are very much designer with plates costs between £45 and £99 each, cups and saucers from £59. The coffee pot and creamer cost £149 and £85 respectively.

Save up to buy a couple of pieces for show or for best, rather than everyday use. The collection is available at Amara.

Keith Haring Dominoes Set

Kharingjigsaw_2Continuing with the Eighties nostalgia, one of the most recognisable artists from that decade would have to be Keith Haring, who made his name with graffiti style art around New York. He believed in getting his work out to as wide an audience as possible so it has always been available on numerous products, such as cards and t-shirts.

One of the more interesting items available is the Keith Haring Dominoes Set. Featuring his distinctive pop art animal characters, it makes a nice alternative to the standard spotted dominoes, and is especially suitable to teaching children the game.

Halfpint Village Store have a set available to buy on their Ebay store, priced just under £23.
