Going back to the 50s and 60s, it was almost a matter of course for the average living room to feature a sunburst-style wall clock. You can still buy reproductions today – or you can buy a variation on that theme from Matalan with the Lattice clock.

Like the sunburst clocks, this is wood, with a design that shoots out from the centre. Unlike the sunburst, this has a rather cool rounded design instead of the jagged look of the original.

And best of all, as it’s Matalan, it’s cheap. Just £12. Though sadly, you can’t buy it online, you need to head down to your local store.

We’ve featured countless rugs in the past – all with retro/vintage designs to brighten up your modern home. But we’ve never highlighted one featuring a famous face – until now, with the Audrey Hepburn rug.

Yes, Audrey Hepburn fans rejoice – this is an essential purchase…for a price. A bit of a world piece, made ethically and hand-tufted in India from New Zealand wool, using a monochrome image of the iconic movie star on a pink background. And it’s good for the floor or hanging as wall art.

It’s sized at 150cm x 200cm and retails for £415. Not cheap – but I’m guessing if you want it, you’ll really want it.

We’ve covered the Marimekko Unikko design previously – introduced in 1964, it still looks as sharp and contemporary today as it did over 40 years ago. And if you want a modern use for it, check out this Fatboy Marimekko Unikko bean bag.

The Fatboy bean bag is something of a modern classic – at 140 x 180cm, it’s big enough to lounge on or use as an extra seat if you’ve got guests round. However, it’s not something you want around your house unless that size is covered with a cool design. And that’s certainly what you get from Marimekko.

You don’t see many bowler hats around these days – not on the heads of city slickers or on the shelves of vintage clothing stores. But there is an easy way of getting one into your home – with one of these Bowler Hat bowls.

Taking inspiration from the classic hat (although I’m not too sure about the slightly wavering brim), it’s made from porcelain and designed by Will Carey for Industreal, with a choice of black or white for your colour.

Great for a bowl, possibly good for a quirky flower pot. Whatever you use it for, it will cost you around £79.

More stylish lighting, this time from Ruth Taylor, who has produced these stylish ceramic lamps.

They’re impressive on two levels – firstly, the shape of the lamp, in particular that rounded base. And of course, the bright retro designs – all hand painted by the designer.

There’s six designs available, including the four pictured above. Sized at 47cm x 30cm, you can pick one up for £190. Not cheap – but certainly individual.
