Marimekko Kivet op art-style duvet set

Marimekko_opart_1
Fancy going black and white in the bedroom? You should take a look at Marimekko’s Kivet duvet cover and pillow case set.

It’s probably unfair to call it op art, as Maija and Kristina Isola’s Kivet material actually dates back to the year 1956, but the stark black and white design certainly would give you that look better than anything else we’ve seen around – unless you can point out anything better?

Available online, you can pick up the set for around £60.

Lego ice cube maker

Legobrickice Come on, admit it, you tried eating some Lego as a child. I know I did – tasted awful. Well, now you can eat Lego – Lego ice cubes that is.

Yes, this is a Lego-shaped ice tray, officially endorsed by Lego. There’s nothing much else to say about it really – just stick in some water, freeze, then impress your party guests with your retro-styled ice cubes.

Available online for a bargain £3.99.

Berluti Deux Jours bag

Berluti_1
If you buy into the "man bag" thing, you might as well make it as classy as possible. And for my money, you’ll not get anything with more style than the Berluti Deux Jours bag.

Made from a soft quality leather, it’s sized at 16.5 x 12 x 5.7 inches (so enough room for most laptops) and with two compartments and a zipped outside pocket, there’s plenty of room to pack in just about everything else you might need about town.

Available in two shades of leather, it’s available online for $1,900 (that’s around £1,000).

Orla Kiely 60s style Shopper bag

Orla_bag
We did feature some Orla Kiely mugs recently, but her range certainly isn’t limited to just homeware – she’s also producing some interesting fashion and accessories too, including this rather nice Orla Kiely 60s style Shopper bag.

This two-toned bag is made from soft leather, with stem print lining and leather strap with stud fastenings. There’s also an exterior pocket with stud fastening and intererior detailing, a mobile pocket and key chain.

Available in a choice of colours (green dark blue and red), it’s available for £330.

Alfa Romeo’s retro-styled 8C Competizione

Alfa_8c
We’ve not had any retro-styled cars for a while, but as there’s a car show on right now in Paris, there was always a chance of a new one. And here it is, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

Few Alfa Romeos of late have lived up to the badge or stylish grill, but this one fits right into the future classic mould. For the technical amongst you, it features a 4.7-litre Maserati V8 engine with 444 hp, a carbon fibre body over steel chassis and a six-speed robotised gear-box with five settings (manual-normal, manual-sport, automatic-normal, automatic-sport and "ice").

Alfa Romeo has said it’s producing the car in limited numbers, but hasn’t said how many, when and how much. I suspect the answer to the last question is "if you’ve got to ask, you can’t afford it".

Giordani Bambino 1950s baby carriage

Retropram
I can’t say we’ve covered a retro pram/baby carriage before, but to be honest, this isn’t strictly retro, it’s actually an original Giordani Bambino pram from the 1950s.

We don’t know a great deal more about it – but to be honest, the picture says more than any number of words can. Actually, we know one more thing – it’s available from Cincinnati Modern for a whopping $2,200.
