Kruger Dress from Monsoon

Kruger

Simple shift dresses are an easy way to transcend fashion eras of the twentieth century, with cuts and embellishments dictating the retro era dress by dress. This Kruger Dress by Monsoon is a great choice of shift for a seventies influenced look, thanks to luxurious embellishment and quality fabric.

Made from 100% silk, the fabric befits a seventies-style influence of North-African style embellishments at the collar. With the shift's cut and silhouette kept simple and classic, the dress's mini hemline and bold colours perfectly illustrate an early seventies chic.

eBay watch: 1970s Jerger space age alarm clock

Jerger

As regular readers might have noticed, we're rather taken with vintage alarm clocks, especially big and bold designs from the 1970s. Like this Jerger alarm clock for example.

German-made and of course, dating back to the 70s, the clock is in full working order (so good for getitng you out of your bed), with the maker's name displayed clearly in the middle of those stylised 70s numbers, just above the chunky hands.

The colour scheme os a very 'of the era' orange and black and the price right now is just 99 pence. A bargain.

Jolly Jessie Kaftan by French Connection

Kaftanfrenchconnection

When remembering 1970s fashion, it's one of a few eras which seem to get a raw deal in retrospect. Decadent disco-era styles are often forgotten, though well worth revisiting for vintage style lovers. This Jolly Jessie Beach Kaftan taps into that aesthetic ideally for modern wear.

The kaftan style, born out of the early 70s love of African and Eastern influence, lends itself to a seventies Riviera style thanks to the loose and luxurious fit. The batwing sleeves are offset by a tie waist to add some femininity to the silhouette. This is one of many beach-wear items well worth incorporating into your year-round wardrobe.

Get it from French Connection in the UK now for £55.

eBay watch: 1970s Braun 4780 wall clock

Braun

Love the modernist looks, but the Braun 4780 wall clock doesn't date back to the original modernist era, instead it dates from the 1970s.

But it is still a very striking design, especially if you love that utilitarian look. The clock is actually plastic, burgundy for the frame, cream for the face and black for the hands (as well as the numbers). It still features the original Braun label and works off a single AA battery.

Not too expensive either, the auction price is currently £21.

Beck

Want to turn your little one into a mini homeboy? You simply need to invest in the Adidas Baby Beckenbauer

Yes, this is a one-to-one replica of the classic 70s tracksuit, inspired, as the name suggests, by footballing legend Franz Beckenbauer. So all the detailing, logos and pockets of the original, in a white and red colourway.

It's designed for very small children, so only 3 months or 9 months I'm afraid. If you have a child of that age, the Beckenbauer is yours for £35.
