Robin Day dining chair back as part of Habitat’s ‘Back by Popular Demand’

Day chair

Aspects of Habitat's new collection may look more than a little familiar. That's because they're featuring several items that are 'back by popular demand' – some of the most-requested products from its retail history now back on sale. This ranges from the chicken brick oven to the more iconic Robin Day dining chair pictured.

The chair is sometimes known as the 675 chair, originally designed by Day for Hille in the 1950s before Habitat began manufacturing it a few decades later. It's an attractive juxtaposition of material – from the tubular steel frame to the oak or walnut veneer back, topped off with a black or cream leather seating pad. Perfect for sitting back in as you await your chicken brick cooked tandoori.

The chair costs £200.

Peacock table runner by Habitat

Peacock table runner

The new Autumn ranges are beginning to trickle into the shops. You can already get a preview of the new Habitat collection online. They've clearly been looking to the past for inspiration for aspects of the collection, which includes this Peacock table runner

The table runner is pure 70s style, featuring a folk-style repeated image of the peacock down the length of the runner. And it's quite a length too, measuring 270cm long. The fabric is a linen and cotton mix, adding to the natural feel of the design. For a perfectly dressed table, they're also selling accompanying peacock napkins.

This runner costs £20.
