Established & Sons and Venini Lighthouse Lamp

Lighthouse_03_500
The Lighthouse Lamp is the product of a collaboration between Established & Sons and Italian glass company Venini.

The lamp was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and consists of hand-blown glass shade and a marble base. The shade is held in place by an industrial made support structure, which has only one point of contact with the shade. The glass hade is available in a choice of a dark smoky grey or amber, which gives the piece a 1970s look to it.

The Lighthouse Lamp is available to buy from Twenty Twenty One, priced at a somewhat prohibitive £2,520.

B&Q’s Verner Panton-like Cupola table lamp

Cupola

B&Q is always a good place to look for interesting and affordable lighting without the big price tag, which this Cupola table lamp is certainly an example of.

Available in various colours (not just the red above), it reminds us of both the Verner Panton Flopwerpot light and his Panthella lamp – not a bad marriage, we have to say.

Made of metal, the lamp stands at just 38cm tall, has an in-line hand switch and needs a 40w bulb for light – the latter likely to add a couple of quid onto the modest £15.98 price tag for the lamp.

Lumitron

A sought-after piece of design on eBay right now, with this Lumitron Flexi lamp by Robert Welch still at a modest price.

Designed in the late 60s, it has a cast iron 'tulip' base with a red enamel finish, along with an aluminium shade and of course, that 'Flexi' stem to direct light anywhere you want it.

According to the seller, it is in 'very good vintage condition' and 'full working order'. It also has the original ‘Lumitron Made in England’ label at the base of the stem. Right now, a real bargain at £25.
