Citizen's 70s-style Alterna Eco-Drive watch
This Alterna Eco-Drive watch from Japanese watchmakers Citizen hides a couple of secrets under its 70s-style exterior - it is solar-powered and radio-controlled.
Yes, no traditional batteries required, power is from both sunlight and artificial light, absorbed through the crystal and dial, then converted to electrical energy via its solar cell. And you don't have to worry about setting the time either - it is automatically set via radio reception, so you know it is always correct to the second.
Other features include water resistance to 100m, date calendar and that retro design, which is available in black or brown. Available from Audiocubes now, priced at $299 (around £150).
