eBay watch: 1950s Dansette Major portable record player

I can't see it selling for its current price when the auction ends, but this 1950s Dansette Major portable record player is worth checking out, no matter what the final price, it you want to spin some vintage vinyl.

It's 50+ years old, but has been fully serviced, so the sound via that valve amplifier is likely to be as rich today as it was in the original era. Aside from that, there's also a two tone covering of green and grey, a cream front loudspeaker panel plus the original on/off volume and tone control knobs.

The four-speed BSR deck autochanger plays at speeds 16, 33, 45 and 78 manually and automatically, with up to eight records able to be stacked for automatic operation at any one time.

The turntable, motor and all mechanisms have all been fully serviced, oiled and adjusted for correct operation and any ageing parts have been replaced with new to ensure years of trouble free use .  It has also been fitted with a new plug and has a brand new stylus fitted.
