50s-style Homeport wallpaper by Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren is, of course, world famous for his classic preppy clothing, but his 1950s-flavoured Homeport wallpaper comes as a refreshing and pleasant surprise.
Produced by Designers Guild, the scene shows a blissful Mediterrean scene. It's reminiscent of some of the wallpaper and ceramic designs produced in the 1950s when interest in foreign holidays and food was filtering into interiors too (take a look at Hugh Casson's Cannes design for Midwinter, for example).
The 50s look is further enhanced by the sketchy style of the image. It's available in several colourways but this blue and white design perhaps best captures that holiday feeling.
The paper costs £55 a roll.
