It doesn't quite have the same 'wow' inside as it does outside, but with some time and effort, we're sure you can sort out a cool period interior for the West Hill four-bedroom 1930s art deco house in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

Of course, you'll need to buy the place first, which certainly doesn't come cheap. That's down to location, this being a desirable private part of a desirable spa town, not to mention the amount of space on offer. The current owners obvious loved it – this is the first time the house has been on the market for over 50 years.

Once inside, you'll find an entrance porch, reception hall, cloak/WC, sitting room, dining room, breakfast room, kitchen and butler’s pantry on the ground, with upstairs adding a master bedroom with two dressing rooms, three further bedrooms, a shower room, a bathroom and separate WC. The second floor tower room is very of its era, offering access to the extensive roof terracing.

Outside there is an integral garage, an additional detached garage, a boiler room and plenty of grounds, not to mention shared ownership of the nearby woods. Updating is certainly required, but your first concern is finding the asking price of around £950,000.
