If you like the idea of the mid-20th century designs of Dieter Rams at Braun, but want it matched with modern-day functionality, you might want to invest in this SuperConnect Hybrid Radio by Revo.

The exterior is a mix of American walnut wood and metal, but it's the control panel and speaker on the front of the SuperConnect that sells this as a Braun-like design. Not unlike the RT20 for example. But as we said, the inner workings are very 2013.

Inside you'll find DAB, DAB+, FM with RDS and internet radio, DLNA and WLAN technology for wireless audio playback from external computers and music servers, Bluetooth for streaming from smartphones and Spotify Connect, which gives you access to over 20 million tracks from the Spotify library if you have a premium account.

On top of that, there is a 'secret-until-lit' graphical OLED display, a 15W Class-D amplifier, patented BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) loudspeaker technology along with a hand-crafted wooden cabinet and an anodised T6 aluminium front facia and speaker grille.

You can't get one yet, but you can get one from 8th November 2013 for £249.95 from the maker's website or the John Lewis website.
