We spotted these last year and immediately wanted one. At least, when our kitchen and bank balance permitted. If you are in better shape than we are, you might want to know that the Smeg 500 in red is now available to order in the UK.
Last year, we heard this was a limited edition fridge, offering around 100 litres of cold storage in the bonnet of a cut-down Fiat 500, with controls based around the car's dashboard. We knew little more, aside from it being pricey.
We now know that it includes three removable bottle holders and a removable glass shelf and that it has an energy rating of A+. Oh yes, we did hope that the lights would work too and indeed, that is the case. What more can you ask for?
Well, an affordable price tag, that's what. However, you'll need £5,000 to get one of these and as we said earlier, quite a large kitchen too. If you have the money and space to spare, you can order one in red right now. We think the other colours are already available, but you might want to check with Smeg to confirm that.
