Fancy living the 1960s dream? Check out this apartment in the Richard Seifert-designed Bedford Towers in Brighton, East Sussex, which is just up for sale.

Not just a 1960s block (1967 to be precise), the current owners of this apartment have recreated the era within. This is pretty much as retro as it gets and in a city synonymous with the era. if you are a regular at the Brighton Mod Weekender then this seafront apartment brings it pretty much to your doorstep.

The apartment is in what was formally the Bedford Hotel. It still is in part, with the first six floors of the block still run as such. But the upper floors are private apartments, with this one in the north-western corner of the building. which is not far from Brighton Pier and The Lanes and a 15-minute walk to the train station.

Head in via the hotel and through the grand lobby and you can get to your apartment via a private lift that serves the apartments.

Once up there you can take in the apartment, which has been reworked by the current owners, creating a large open living room, with a glazed and covered balcony wrapped around it. Great views as you would imagine over Brighton and the coast.

Away from the living room is the kitchen and two bedrooms, with the master with its own en-suite bath. Or check out the bathroom instead if you want more privacy.

Of course, the apartment is only half the story, with the finish being the other half of the tale. The fixtures and fittings are so right for this place. Some are vintage, but some we have spotted as more contemporary retro pieces. It’s a great example of just what you can do with the right furnishings. Love the colour choices in this place too, as well as details like the tiles and flooring.

Yes, much of the furniture will be going, but you should be able to recreate the look with a bit of hunting around online – or on this site.

There is a service charge, which is £1,831.09, so something to keep in mind when you check the mortgage payments. Talking of the latter, the asking price is £550,000.
